The development will provide around 1,500 new homes, of which 40% will be affordable homes for rent or shared ownership, including specialist accommodation involving two Extra Care Facilities for the elderly. Once outline planning permission is granted, detailed planning applications will be submitted for future phases of house building.
New homes will be designed sympathetically to reflect the local vernacular using local materials and designs will be agreed with the local council.
There will be a range of house-types including detached, semi-detached and terraced properties and some apartments. These will offer a choice of one and two-bedroom starter homes, three and four-bedroom family houses, and larger executive houses.
